One of the places that I had on my must see places in London was the Metropolitan Tabernacle. Metropolitan Tabernacle is an Independent Reformed Baptist Church where Charles Haddon Spurgeon was the church minister or pastor for 38 years. Spurgeon is regarded as one of the greatest preachers of the nineteenth century. He was known as the "Prince of Preachers".
I visited the Tabernacle on 19 September 2019, on a Wednesday morning. Apart from seeing the building, my other aim was to visit the Tabernacle Bookshop to buy some books. When I entered the bookshop, I was like a child that stumbles on a candy shop. I was amazed at the wide selection of sound Christian books and other resources.
I went from shelf to shelf and browsed at the books that were displayed. I then selected the books that I wanted to purchase. I bought a number of booklets authored by Dr. Masters as well as books by other authors. I also bought some CD audio sermons as well as a musical CD.
It was such a joy for me to meet Wezi Kaonga with whom I attended Lusaka Baptist Church in Zambia in the late 80s and early 90s. He was attending a memorial service that day. Wezi is currently serving as a pastor in Cambridgeshire.
