Last year (in 2017) in one of my many visits to Cape Town in South Africa, I did something I had not done before in my previous visits. What is that you maybe wondering is it that I did? Well, I went up the Table Mountain twice i.e. in February and in September. I had only been up Table Mountain once before i.e. in September 2011 with my former classmate Gerald from Austria. What's so special about Table Mountain you maybe wondering? Before I tell you what's special about it, here is a photo that I took in February 2017.

Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town in South Africa. It is a significant tourist attraction, with many visitors using the cableway or hiking to the top. (I have used the cable car on all three occasions that I have been there!). The mountain forms part of the Table Mountain National Park. Table Mountain is home to large array of fauna and flora, most of which is endemic (Wikipedia, 2018).
One of the highlights of being up on Table Mountain is the breathtaking views you have of Cape Town and the Atlantic Ocean. See the photos below. The first is one that I took in September 2017 when I was with my daughter Shingisai. The second was taken by Irene a colleague whom I serve with on the e/Merge Africa Network.

So what does it take to get up to Table Mountain? Well you can use a cable car which will cost a few hudnreds of Rands or you can hike (for the daring!). What can you expect when on top of the mountain? I have already mentioned great views of the city. You can take great photo shoots of the city and the Atlantic Ocean. You can see lots of small creatures and fauna there, you can also have a picnic there (like I did with my daughter). But one thing going up Table Mountain is an experience you will never forget. You will see the splendour of God's creation and your heart will exclaim and sing: "How great Thou art!"
As I end let me say that Table Mountain can be seen from many parts of Cape Town and many wonderful shots like the ones below:
